Prince Charles and Camilla in Pakistan

by Maricar on October 31st, 2006

Prince Charles and Camilla seem to be enjoying their trip to Pakistan, despite needing to cancel at least one stop, the northern city of Peshawar, due to security concerns.

The couple were presented with several gifts from the government of Pakistan, including a royal blue evening tunic with diamante and Swarovski crystals, and a hot pink shalwar kameez decorated with pearls and silver for the duchess. Both outfits were designed by Farah Leghari, who has Jordan’s Queen Rania as one of her clients. Prince Charles was presented with a white woollen chitrali hat which is popular in northern Pakistan.

The duchess has been praised for her choice of this outfit, which is inspired by the national dress of Pakistani women. This was designed by Robinson Valentine of London.
