Sweden’s Princess Lilian, 91, Deemed Too Old for Nobel Banquet
Princess Lilian of Sweden, who is 91 years old, has been attending the Nobel Prize Banquet for 30 years. This year, she will not be among the guests of honor at the prestigious gathering.
…according to Catherine Broms, spokeswoman for the Royal Court, Princess Lilian had agreed that it would be best for her to give the event a miss.
“The Nobel Party is a long sitting and Princess Lilian and the Royal Family have decided together that the banquet would be too long for her. She is after all, over 90 years old,” said Broms.
