Swedish Royals on State Visit to Japan
Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia are visiting Japan, just in time for the country’s famed cherry blossom season. They were greeted by thousands of Japanese waving the flags of the two countries. They were treated to traditional Japanese cultural shows and had a visit to a Buddhist temple.
The Swedish royals met with Japan’s Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko at the Imperial Palace, and during a state dinner. Other members of the Japanese royal family were also present during the dinner.
It’s always interesting when royal families get together, especially those with cultures as different as the Japanese and Swedish.
