Denmark’s Prince Joachim to Be Engaged?
Britain’s young royals don’t have the monopoly on engagement speculations these days. Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall are joined by Denmark’s Prince Joachim and his French girlfriend Marie Cavallier.
The Danish prince reportedly introduced Marie to his parents last weekend, setting off speculations of a royal engagement.
Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik met with Cavallier and their youngest son at Marselisborg Castle near Aarhus, gossip magazines Billed-Bladet and Se og Hor reported.
French-born Prince Henrik was quoted as saying by Billed-Bladet that it was the second time he and the queen met Cavallier, 31. The magazine’s front page headline splashed “Wedding Planned” during the meeting.
Prince Joachim was first married to, and is now divorced from, the ex-Princess Alexandra, with whom he has two sons. Alexandra married Martin Jorgensen last March and is now known as Countess of Frederiksborg.
