Should Prince Harry Be Pulled Out of Iraq Tour?
Prince Harry is due to join the British forces in Iraq for a six-month tour starting next month. In advance of his deployment, various people in the media have reported on the danger awaiting him there.
The Daily Record says that two Iraqi militant groups have announced that they are awaiting the arrival of the prince in Iraq, and not for good purposes.
Sunni militants plan to kidnap the prince and demand the exchange of prisoners and withdrawal of British forces.
Meanwhile, the Shia militia have been ordered to get the Queen’s 22-year-old grandson in their sights.
Abu Zaid, a commander in the Mehdi Army Shia militia, said: “We are awaiting the arrival of the young, handsome, spoilt prince with baited breath.
“We confidently expect he will come out into the open on to the battlefield.
“We will be generous with him. For we will return him to his grandmother but without ears.”
The Royal Anedotes has put out a call to pull him out of Iraq pronto:
The British Government should order him out of the deployment at the highest level. He is clearly a danger to all the men around him, so his personal views should be overriden, even if that results in his leaving the Army.
Prince Harry has said that he will not stay home while the soldiers he trained with are in danger. It is a quandary for the British government and the Monarchy. Pulling Harry out of Iraq, when they have already announced his deployment, will raise many issues. But putting the soldier prince in a situation where he is obviously in danger might not be wise, either.
Do you think Prince Harry should stay in Britain or go to Iraq?
