Princess Diana Memorial Concert in Trouble?
The memorial concert being arranged by Britain’s Prince William and Prince Harry for their mother Diana’s is reportedly encountering some significant snags.
Even though tickets for the concert sold out within minutes, the princes are concerned about the lack of big name pop stars who have signed up for the event. In contrast, the Live Earth gig which will be held in the same venue (Wembley Stadium) a week later will have the likes of Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Genesis, Duran Duran, the Foo Fighters, U2, and the Black Eyed Peas performing.
For the Diana concert? Elton John and Andrew Lloyd-Webber. Big names both, yes, but will they draw the younger crowd to the memorial concert? Probably not. Having Jason Donovan and Donny Osmond in the mix adds no spark either.
The princes might be in for a big disappointment. Will they face the music and call the concert off, or hang on and hope that Diana’s fans stay true?
