Prince Harry’s Delayed Deployment

by Maricar on May 3rd, 2007

General Sir Richard Dannatt, the Chief of the British General Staff, announced just recently that Prince Harry will be sent to Iraq. However, security concerns have made his superiors in the Army delay his deployment.

According to an army source quoted in the Sun, the prince is to be sent to Iraq as late as possible so that by the time he arrives, his colleagues will have as much experience as possible.

“If the men are all familiar with their new surroundings before Harry arrives, they will be far sharper to the dangers of the inevitable first attack … Getting him out late is no bad thing for the rest of the lads,” said the source.

General Dannatt did say that his decision will be under constant review. If they find that the danger to Prince Harry and his men are too great, there might still be the possibility that Prince Harry will not deploy after all.
