Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary are in New York to promote their country’s Creative Nation. They’ve already had a busy couple of days, which included visits to the Danish companies Lundbeck Research, Bodum, and Arla Foods, as well as to Takashimaya and a Citibabes daycare.

Prince Frederik, accompanied by Danish Deputy Prime Minister Bendt Bendtsen, opened the New York Stock Exchange today, while Princess Mary visited the Danish design firm, Carl Hansen & Son.

Accompanying the couple on their trip is their 5-month old daughter, Princess Isabella. Prince Christian was left back in Denmark to continue attending his nursery school. The little prince is with his grandparents at the Chancellery House, and I hear is doing quite well, even with his parents away.

Royal Trivia: The Chancellery House was built in 1731 on the grounds of Fredensborg Palace. It is the residence of the Crown Prince of Denmark and his family.

Let’s Discuss: What do you think of Princess Mary’s fashion style?

I feel Prince Christian should not have been left behind. Surely the nanny who watches over princess isabella could watch over him also. Theres no way i as a mother could be separated from my 2 + year old. Big mistake…the family should be together always.

i forgot to mention how prince christian must be feeling, knowing his parents took his sister with them but left him behind.

Having worked as a full-time nanny myself, I can say with confidence that having familiar and loving people around (his nanny and grandparents) makes the temporary absence of his parents no big deal. I’m sure Prince Christian has done just fine while his parents are away for a few days. In fact, at this age Christian benefits more from not having his regular routine interrupted by travel and unknown environments where he will have to be separated from his parents most of the day anyway.
