The Merry Royals in September 2007

Birthdays, books, and boats were all in the royal news last month:
British Royals
Queen Elizabeth received a “thank-you” tree by the National Gardens Scheme. Princess Anne was busy with official visits, which included the Czeck Republic, a nature reserve, and the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon.
Prince Charles continues to perform has duties that will prepare him to become King someday. He has drawn attention to the effects of artificial food additives and continues to espouse organic gardening practices in a new book. It was announced that The Duchess of Cornwall will name the new luxury liner Queen Victoria. Last month, Camilla’s wax replica joined those of the Royal Family at Madame Tussauds.
Romantic couple Prince William and Kate Middleton were still in the news, though it was much less than in previous months. Kate, who is being compared to Diana by some, is said to be meeting the Queen at Balmoral very soon.
Prince Harry, who turned 23 last month, got an earful from girlfriend Chelsy, and a raging case with a photographer in the middle of the night. We got to see some fun YouTube videos of the brothers last month.
Prince Edward paid a visit to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Meanwhile, The Duchess of York and her daughter Princess Beatrice donned matching gowns for a charity fashion affair. Princess Beatrice, who was spotted last month at the Cuckoo Club, is due to make her big screen debut in the Queen Victoria movie.
Dutch Royals
Crown Prince Willem-Alexander celebrated his 40th birthday with a good number of royal guests. Queen Beatrix attended the opening of a new inter-faith academy in Germany.
Danish Royals
Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary visited New York for an official visit, accompanied by their 5-month-old daughter, Princess Isabella. Two year-old Prince Christian stayed back back in Denmark with his grandparents. During the NY visit, Princess Mary hinted that they would like to have more kids.
Jordanian Royals
King Abdullah II met with former British Prime Ministry Tony Blair. Queen Rania made a surprise visit to a school she plans to ‘adopt’. Ten-year-old Princess Iman joined her Queen Rania on an official visit to China.
Royals of Brunei
Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah entered the semifinals of the Brunei 9-Ball Invitational Cup. Prince Mohamed Bolkiah was at the 62nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)in New Yor, during which he attended dinners hosted by Bush & UN Secretary General.
Spanish Royals
Spain’s Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia at the UN Conference to Fight Desertification. The princess celebrated her 35th birthday last month.
Other Royal Families
Japan’s Empress Michiko put in an appearance at Tokyo’s Mori Art Museum. Norway’s Queen Sonja spent time with AIDS patients. A list of the World’s Most Eligible Royals was compiled by Forbes magazine.
