Prince William to Join the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force
Clarence House has announced that Prince William will be joining both the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force after he finishes his service with the Household Cavalry Regiment next year.
The move looks designed to give the second-in-line a more rounded experience in the military than just a stint with the Army will allow. Part of his training with the RAF will be learning to fly a plane, which is one of the prince’s lifelong ambitions.
You can read the announcement here.
Royal Trivia: Prince Charles learned to fly from the Royal Air Force during his second year at Cambridge. Qualified as a helicopter and fighter pilot, he served in both the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy.
Royal Watcher Question: Do you think this plan has been recently formed, or has it been in the works for a while?
