Kate and William at Balmoral

Prince William and Kate Middleton have spent a long weekend at Balmoral, presumably to have a chat with The Queen and enjoy the company of the Royal Family. Prince William and Kate were the guests of Prince Charles and Camilla. We don’t know (yet) whether the visit with the Queen occurred. But we do know that Kate spent some time with Prince Charles on the shooting range.

Prince Charles accompanied Kate as she learned how to shoot at targets out in the highlands. From the photos I’ve seen, she seemed to have enjoyed herself and was a keen learner.

This is the clearest sign so far of the strength of the relationship of Prince William and Kate. Spending time with Prince Charles, without William, in an activity that the Prince of Wales enjoys (and Kate clearly appreciates) is a far more important indicator than hours spent in London clubs. It’s an “inner circle” activity, if you will.
