Kate Middleton Moving On
Kate Middleton has left her job as accessories buyer at Jigsaw, in order to have “some time to herself”, and maybe open a photography gallery.
The Jigsaw job appeared to be the ideal position for her, schedule-wise. She was only required to work four days a week, and allowed to go on vacation apparently any time she chooses. Such breaks usually coincided with time spent with Prince William on holiday. Hers had been a job specially created for her by the owners, who presumably understand the demands of a royal relationship. The job is being kept open for her, in case she finds herself wanting to return. As a Jigsaw staff member says, Kate’s position at the store is a “special case”.
I feel that there is more to the move than just Kate wanting time for herself. Maybe she wants to seriously pursue a career that she can call her own, one that is more in tune with her interests and training. The Jigsaw job certainly didn’t make much use of her degree in art history. A solid career in art photography would help erase some impressions that Kate is just waiting around for Prince William to propose to her. I think it’s a good time for Kate to show that she can make a name for herself, beyond just being the girl beside Prince William.
Meanwhile, engagement rumors are once again intensifying. Can this move from Jigsaw be part of setting the stage for an announcement soon? Around Christmas perhaps? There is a report that Prince William has reserved the entire Desroches Island Resort during the Christmas week. The resort is where the couple spent a romantic holiday all by themselves a few months ago, and where they also promised to return.
Imagine this scenario: Queen Elizabeth makes the engagement announcement during her Christmas speech. The couple go on holiday, and return in time to show off the engagenent ring. Sound plausible? What do you think?
