Camilla Names the Queen Victoria

by Maricar on December 11th, 2007

Prince Charles was mighty proud, and it shows. His wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, was given an honor usually reserved for queens.

Yesterday, Camilla named the Queen Victoria, the newest luxury liner from Cunard lines.

The grand ceremonial opening was held at the Southampton docks. The ship has seven restaurants, three swimming pools and a Queen’s Room, where “the life of Queen Victoria is reflected through a collection of works including photographs of The Queen, her husband Prince Albert and their children and grandchildren.”

Prince Charles and Camilla were given a tour of the ship before the ceremony.

The new ship leaves today for its maiden, 10-day voyage around Northern Europe.

I must say she looks great, and very happy to see a loving Royal couple.
As for the opinion ” STILL I FEEL SORRY FOR DIANA”. May I say I feel sorry for that person and thier bitter nasty comment regarding HRH Carmilla the wife of Prince Charles.

Bitter, nasty comments are the norm when taking a pot shot at Diana. It stirs up memory’s about the way Diana was used & abused. Remember, they were supposed to be the mature people. The “nasty” part that anyone should bother anyone at all is; saying how great Camilla Parker Bowles looks! LOL…Yeah, right, she looks like an older version of Diana. That’s like Windows 4.0..Do the “subjects” have to pay for the facelift and of scraping nicotine off those horse teeth of hers? People are allowed to express their own opinion. Also, Just because they have an HRH in this day and age–doesn’t me jack to “normal” people. Most who hear HRH automatically think the (royals) are inbred. I just hope she (parker-bowles) didn’t curse the ship to a watery grave.

Not being a British Subject although I am a proud Canadian which allows me to choose whether or not to voice an
opinion without fear of reprisal. I stand behind my remarks referring to the person who wrote
” Still I feel sorry for Diana” as bitter and nasty.
I am sure a large number of people
throughout the world feel sorrow, myself included, for a young life being lost in such a tragic accident. People must move on with their lives such
as HRH Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, however they can not
please everyone as seen by the forgoing email.
I do believe the Duchess of Cornwall did look great. I also acknowledge the writer of above email comment
“she looks like an older version of Diana” I myself would not be looking to compare the two both had and have their own style.
I personally could care less if the Royals are inbred or not, as for the ship being cursed to a watery grave
is just another uncalled for hateful statement.

I, too, am Canadian, and I fully see the “dog” factor in Camilla.

But I think there are more troubling issues at play here….

The monarchy is supported by the PEOPLE of England, they are not elected officials. Therefore, for the Palace and Charles to give that DOG a title, a makeover and throw her into a Queen-to-be role, when they KNOW full well the public doesn’t like her or want her for their queen, is tantamount to fascism.

Shove her down their throats, put on a pretty hat, fixed her teeth, curl her hair — anyway you dress it up, it’s still a dog and a dark, menacing mark on the monarchy.

Spin doctors have succeeded in making her more palatable, but she’ll always be the homewrecker that lead to Diana’s death. Their conscience can’t escape that one!

    Response to ZK

I respect your opinion also totally agree with your statement that they are an unelected body. This opens up another area that in Canada we have a Governor General also unelected. Is it not time to abolish the Monarchy from Canada replacing it with elected Canadians?
I enjoy reading about the British Royal family and have a respect for the Queen whom I believe works long hours for her people. I stand behind my statement that Camilla looked great spin doctor or not.
Have a great holiday season and thank you for your response.

I love Camilla to bits. She has got real class, supports her husband and the monarchy.
For those of you who still carry for torch the Diana all I can say is “get over it”. She was no angel!
