Who Stole the Prince’s Geese?
December 13, 2007 by Maricar Macalincag
Prince Charles food brand Duchy Originals will not be selling any geese this year. Thieves made off with 350 Wessex White Geese which have been set to be sold under the brand. Hundreds of ducklings also died when the intruders set fire to a barn at the Higher Fingle Farm, where the geese were being raised. Prince Charles has expressed his regret and support to the owners of the farm for the incident. Police are still investigating.
Duchy Originals sells “natural, high-quality organic and premium products, while helping to protect and sustain the countryside and wildlife”. Among their products are Champagne Truffles, organic drinks, and organic soaps and lotions. Also available are various sausages and hams.
