Double Celebration of Dutch Royal Birthdays
The royal family of the Netherlands had a joint celebration of the birthdays of Queen Beatrix (January 31) and Princess Margriet (January 19), atthe Royal Theater Carré, on the Amstel River in Amsterdam. The royals arrived by boat, then walked to the theater where they hosted the festivities for more than 1,000 guests.
