Prince William’s Secret Visit to Afghanistan
Prince William went on a top secret visit to Afghanistan to meet with British personnel in the frontlines. The trip was so high-risk and secret that a news blackout was imposed before he left and during his trip. The prince is now safely back in Britain.
The prince, who received his wings only weeks ago, flew a C-17 Globemaster military transporter during part of the journey from Oxfordshire to Kandahar. He was on the ground in Afghanistan on Monday, and spent three hours with British troops. The entire trip took approximately 30 hours.
What a pleasant surprise it must have been for the soldiers! And Prince William was surely glad for the chance to go there and do his part to encourage them, even for only a short while.

I think it was a good idea. The Prince will have an idea how the real fighters live and fight. This is necessary for a man who one day will be the king.
