Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier Rehearse for their Wedding Day
In the midst of the media coverage of the Phillips-Kelly nuptials, let’s not forget that there is another royal wedding this month.
Denmark’s Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier are getting married tomorrow, May 24, 2008 in Mogeltonder Church in Southern Denmark. The private reception will be held at nearby Schackenborg Castle, an 18th-century estate. The castle is also where the couple will reside after the wedding.
The couple’s engagement was announced on October 3, 2007. French-born Marie will become a Danish citizen upon her marriage to the prince. She will also become step-mum 8-year-old Nikolai and 5-year-old Felix, Joachim’s children from his first marriage to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. Marie and the two boys appear to have developed a good and healthy relationship.
The couple’s wedding logo, below, was designed by Joachim, and shows their initials under a royal crown.
