Danish Royals at Livgarde’s Gala Concert
The Danish royal family was well-represented at the Livgarde concert on June 29, 2008. Den Kongelige Livgarde (The Royal Guards) was formed in 1658 as both an infantry regiment and guard for the Danish monarch. The concert in Copenhagen marks its 350-year anniversary.

Celebrating with the regiment were Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik; Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary; newly-weds Prince Joachim and Princess Marie; and Princess Benedikte. This was Princess Marie’s first official engagement since the wedding.
