The Merry Royals

Princess Mary on Best-Dressed List

by Maricar on August 3rd, 2008

Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, with Iceland’s President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson and his wife Dorrit Moussaieff, on a visit in May 2008

Another princess which I missed on my first list of Vanity Fair’s Best-Dressed Women was Princess Mary of Denmark. Princess Mary is one of my favorite royals. In the list, she is Number 16, though I think she should be higher. ;)

Here are a couple more of her recent fashion statements:

5 opinions for Princess Mary on Best-Dressed List

It is very disappointing that Vanity Fair did not consider Princess Mary in at least the top 10, if not among the top 5 best dressed ones. She is The most active Royal Princess at events with Royal Prince Frederik and has the most busy schedule on her own too. At all the Events and even on vacation, she has proven to be the most Royal while always remaining very natural, at ease, a true professional, always smiling, laughing and so intelligent. Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark prove to be the happiest couple of them all. Their Love, admiration for each other, complicity and bond are The most beautiful to see of them all. With their 2 children they are the most LOVING FAMILY. They remain down to earth and full fill their private and royal life with rare perfection, class and simplicity.

Princess Mary of Denmark should be no. 1 best-dressed among all princess in Europe because she got a well- sculptured body, anything she wears, she looks like a “mannequin”, unlike other princesses too thin, some are too fat, but ” MARY GOT PERFECT FEMININE BODY FIGURE, SHE GOT A MODEL CHEEKBONE, ARMS, LEGS, SHOULDER, NOSE, SHE GOT A CLASSIC FACE, WITH A TIMELESS BEAUTY THAT NOBODY CAN SURPASS.

I love Mary’s clothes, and I think she looks great, albeit not beautiful. Her looks are quite generic, unlike Mette-Marit’s or Letizia who look unique and exotic, respectively. But there’s no doubt that Mary should be in this list, her stylist is a genius. Mary’s access to designer clothes and the ‘princess lessons’ she got before she married Fred benefit her. She looks wonderful all the time.

I don’t think looking like a “mannequin” is a good thing. That would mean Mary doesn’t have her own personality, that she’s lifeless and she’s a total clotheshorse (which is why some people think her features are superficial and she’s all about fashion). I’m sure she’s much more than that. The only thing she seems to lack is curves. She sometimes looks like she has no waist or chest.

Princess Mary is NOT a classic beauty -with her turned up nose (evidence of a nose job is you look at pictures of her in pre-princess days), long pointy chin, thin lips and slightly horsy looking face. She looks well put together, yes, but considering that she has an entire team of makeup artists, hair dressers, wardrobe assistance and unlimited clothing budget, that’s not surprising!
