Video: Countess of Wessex in Paderborn, Germany
The Countess of Wessex is slowly going back to her royal duties. In her first official engagement after the birth of Viscount Severn, Sophie went to Paderborn, Germany to visit the 5th Battalion The Rifles last September 10-11, 2008.
This video of the visit was posted by the Royal Channel on YouTube:
The Countess is the royal patron of the 5th battalion. During her full day’s visit, she had a brief ride in one of the armored vehicles that the battalion uses. She also awarded several medals, including a Meritorious Service Medal. A Regimental dinner was held in her honor to conclude her trip.
