Norway’s Royals Welcome Irish President McAleese

King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway are hosting a three-day state visity by Ireland’s President Mary McAleese and her husband Dr Martin McAleese.
President McAleese arrived in Oslo on October 14, 2008 and was welcomed by King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. A welcome ceremony and lunch at the royal palace preceded an afternoon visit to Norway’s national library and monument. A gala dinner was then held in the visitors’ honor that evening.
President McAleese will also stop by Oslo University and give a speech at the Nobel Institute during her stay.
