Prince Charles Arrives in Indonesia

November 1, 2008 by Maricar Macalincag

After a short trip to Brunei, Prince Charles arrived in Indonesia today, November 1, 2008, at the tail end of a trip to East Asia this week. The Prince of Wales is not accompanied by his wife Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, who returned to Britain after their trip to Brunei.

Here’s a video showing his arrival at the airport and some of the activities on his first day in Indonesia. This is in Indonesian, which I’m afraid I can’t translate for you, but I hope you enjoy this glimpse just the same.

Prince Charles’ visit in Indonesia will focus on rainforest conservation and interfaith dialogue. Indonesia is the world’s largest nation with a Muslim majority.

Prince Charles will visit the island of Sumatra, before going to Jakarta to meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He will also meet with Yogyakarta’s hereditary Sultan Hamengkubuwono X in the island of Java.

When I get photos of the trip to Brunei, I will be sure to post them here for you.
