Celebrations for Prince Charles’ 60th Birthday

It’s a milestone birthday for Prince Charles.

On Friday, November 14, 2008, The Prince of Wales will turn 60, making him the longest-serving heir to the British throne.

There will be several events to mark the prince’s birthday this week.

On Wednesday, Prince Charles and Camilla will be the guests of honor at a performance by Blackadder star Rowan Atkinson, Monty Python’s John Cleese and American comic and movie actor Robin Williams. Proceeds of this event will benefit the Prince’s Trust.
On Thursday, Queen Elizabeth will host a concert and dinner at Buckingham Palace. Members of the British and European royal families will be in attendance.
On Friday, Prince Charles and Camilla will spend time with inner-city youngsters to highlight the work of the Prince’s Trust.
On Saturday, the Duchess of Cornwall will host a private party at Highgrove for 200 close friends. Rod Stewart will provide the entertainment.
