Queen Elizabeth Opens Parliament 2008

Queen Elizabeth opening the British Parliament is one of my favorite events on the British royal calendar. Outside of royal weddings, this is one of those times that we can see The Queen in all her glittering majesty, bedecked with royal jewels that remain hidden for the rest of the year.
The royal coach, the procession, the golden thrones. What’s not to love?
