It’s a Baby Boy for Denmark’s Prince Joachim and Princess Marie!

Prince Joachim of Denmark makes an announcement to the press after the birth of his son on May 4, 2009.
Yesterday, May 4, 2009, a new little prince joined the Danish royal family.
Princess Marie, the wife of Prince Joachim, gave birth to their first child at at 4:57 a.m. at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen (Copenhagen University Hospital). Prince Joachim, who was present during the birth, spoke to the press on Monday.
At birth, the baby boy weighed 3032 grams (6.7 pounds) and was 49 cm (19.3 inches) long. Both mom and baby are doing well.
As is customary for the Danish royals, the baby’s name will be announced at the time of his christening, approximately 3 months from now.
