Danish Royals Attend State Banquet in Vietnam
November 3, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
The Danish royals were the guests of honor at the State Banquet hosted by Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet and his wife, Tran Chi Kim Chi. The dinner was held at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on the evening of the second day of the Danish visit.
Queen Margrethe with President Nguyen:
Queen Margrethe wore a white-over-magenta gown with a white shawl. Royal mad hatter Ella identified the tiara as the Diamond and Turquoise Bandeau Tiara, an inheritance from the Queen mother, the late Queen Ingrid.
Princess Mary’s head was unadorned at the State Banquet. She wore a shimmering off-shoulder ice blue gown covered with such exquisite detail. She really didn’t need any more accessories to go with it.

Princess Mary resembles the young actress Elizabeth Taylor. Mary is a stunning dresser. One of the best dressed ladies in the world. Her manner is supered
I love to see pictures and read about Queen Margarethe and her family. They are always involved in such meaningful projects, the whole family! It is such a good example for all of us. I have been watching and reading about Queen Margarethe and her family for a year now, and I enjoy it very much.
Mavis, the resemblance has never occurred to me! But I agree that Princess Mary is always dressed so well.
Mary, this is the place for you, then! The Danish royals appear regularly here, what with the many activities they have.
Maricar: I dare say that the Danish people should be proud of Mary, she has grace and style. Around the time of her engagement to the prince. Someone wrote that Princess Alaxandra (her former sister-in-law) could teach Mary
about grace and style. Mary is a natural and now Queen Margarethe has gained two daughters (Marie and Mary. No wonder Queen M. keeps smiling.
Mavis, I believe the Danes are indeed proud of their Crown Couple. Probably at the time of their engagement, Princess Mary had a more casual style. But I think her natural grace must have been evident even then.
… that Mary and Frederik remain a happily wedded couple forever and ever!!!
