More hats as Royal Ascot continues into its second day. The Queen and Prince Philip arrived on a horse-drawn carriage as is customary for the meeting. Prince Charles and Camilla also made their appearance in the Royal Enclosure.

The town of Whitehaven in Cumbria celebrated their 300th anniversary with royal guests today, June 5, 2008.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited the town and officially opened its renovated Beacon Museum. The royal couple also witnessed a re-enactment of the freedom of the harbor given to the United States Navy in 1999.
