The newly-weds Prince Joachim and now Princess Marie head down the aisle. We can hear the cheers in the background as the couple exits the church in a stately manner. It’s all very solemn, with none of the rush to greet the couple usually seen in weddings.
Their car ride to Shackenborg Castle is also shown, with hundreds of well-wishers lining the streets (and security officers jogging alongside the slow-moving car).

In this video clip, the bride Marie Cavallier alights from her car and walks to the front of the church on a red carpet. The guests are shown briefly. You’ll see Prince Frederik saying something to his wife, the lovely Princess Mary, before looking up to admire the church’s painted ceiling. The groom waited patiently, if a little nervously, for his bride, with his sons by his side.
Marie’s off-white gown is made of Calais lace and was designed by David Arasa and Claudio Morelli from Arasa Morelli. The gown has a 3-meter long train. A tiara loaned to the bride by he rnew mother-in-law The Queen, and diamond earrings complete the look.

This second video of the wedding of Danish Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier shows the arrival of the groom with his two sons from his first marriage to Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. Prince Felix and Prince Nicolai took their place beside their father at the front of the church as they waited for the bride.

Danish TV aired the wedding of Prince Joachim to Marie Cavallier last weekend. For those of us who didn’t get a chance to see it live, videos are the next best thing!
This is the first part of the broadcast, showing the interior of Mogeltonder Church decked out for the wedding.
White lilies and roses dominated the floral arrangements inside the church. Traditional for weddings in Mogeltonder Church is the heart-shaped arrangement of roses inside of which the bride and groom sit. The floral arrangements were by Jan Munch, Munch & Levison.

Among the 300 guests who attended the wedding of Denmark’s Prince Joachim and Marie Cavellier were the prince’s own family of course, Norway’s Crown Couple Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, and Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria.
Queen Margrethe II arrived in a stunning lovely pink gown, on the arm of her husband Prince Henrik. Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary were a lovely couple, with the princess in a soft light blue gown with a multi-layered skirt. Princess Victoria was fresh and fabulous in a flowing tangerine outfit. Princess Mette-Marit was more subdued in her lavender off-the-shoulder gown. Princess Martha Louis attended in a gold-toned gown.

Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier Wed at Mogeltonder Church

Denmark’s Prince Joachim and French-born Marie Cavallier were married last weekend at the ancient Mogeltonder Church.
Marie, now styled Her Royal Highness Princess Marie, wore off-white gown by David Arasa and Claudio Morelli. The gown had a three-meter-long train. Marie also wore a tiara belonging to her new mother-in-law Queen Margrethe II. Her bouquet included winter barley from the fields of Schackenborg Castle, and white lilies.
The reception attended by 300 guests was held at the Castle, where the newly-weds will live.

Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier Rehearse for their Wedding Day

In the midst of the media coverage of the Phillips-Kelly nuptials, let’s not forget that there is another royal wedding this month.
Denmark’s Prince Joachim and Marie Cavallier are getting married tomorrow, May 24, 2008 in Mogeltonder Church in Southern Denmark. The private reception will be held at nearby Schackenborg Castle, an 18th-century estate. The castle is also where the couple will reside after the wedding.
