Photos: Prince William, Prince Harry at RAF Shawbury
June 19, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
In addition to a videotaped interview of Prince William and Prince Harry at the RAF base in Shawbury, I also have these photos of the brothers in their uniforms. We see a glimpse of the two beside and at the controls of the helicopters. The brothers are accorded no special titles while in training: they are simply known as William Wales and Harry Wales.
The media event was held to focus on the status of the princes’ training as helicopter pilots.

Prince William and Prince Harry held a media event about the current stages of their military careers.
The princes are sharing a house while they both undergo helicopter training at the Royal Air Force base in Shawbury in Shropshire. The directions of their careers are different at this point. Prince William is focusing on becoming search and rescue pilot for the RAF (correction on the AP report) while Prince Harry is learning to become an Army helicopter pilot.
Prince Harry has said that he wishes to return to Afghanistan to see action as a helicopter pilot. Prince William also has expressed a desire to be deployed.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s Polo Weekend
June 9, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
It was a busy weekend for Prince William and Prince Harry, playing their favorite sport at two events. First, the royal brothers played in the Polo in the Park Finals at The Hurlingham Club in London on June 6, 2009.
This is the first time since 1939 that polo has been played at the Club. Saturday’s event marked the last of the two-day tournament that saw city-based teams competing against each other.
Here are a few more photos of the princes, both on the ground and as they were playing.

]Last Saturday, May 30, 2009, Prince Harry played in a charity match at the Veuve Cliquot Manhattan Polo Classic on Governor’s Island. The game benefited his African charity Sentebale.
Prince Harry spent about 36 hours in the U.S. in his first official trip to the country. His first visit was when he was younger, and Princess Diana took him and his brother Prince William on vacation.

It was a busy day for Prince Harry during his visit to New York City today, May 29, 2009. The short trip, all of 36 hours, was the first official one for the prince.
Here are some more photos, including his tree-planting at the British Garden at Hanover Square. Prince Harry planted a magnolia tree as part of ‘Million Trees NYC’. He also led the renaming of ‘The British Garden at Hanover Square’.
Prince Harry Visits New York City
May 29, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
Prince Harry was in New York City today, May 29, 2009, his first trip to the Big Apple. Though the prince has been to the U.S. once before (with his mother Princess Diana and his brother, Prince William), this is his first official visit.
Prince Harry paid his respects to the victims of 9/11, met with some of their family members and laid a wreath at Ground Zero. He also stopped by the NYC Fire Department’s Ladder 10/Engine 10 firehouse and viewed the construction of the 9/11 memorial.
Afterwards, Prince Harry planted a magnolia tree at the British Memorial Garden at Lower Manhattan’s Hanover Square. The President of the British Memorial Garden Trust, Camilla Hellman, and City Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, were on hand during the tree planting ceremony.
Also part of the prince’s visit today was a private reception at India House, a visit to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Manhattan and a meeting with members of the veterans group Wounded Warriors.

Prince William, Prince Harry Have Fun at Polo Match
May 11, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
Prince Harry and Prince William at the polo match in Coworth Park on May 10, 2009.
Prince William and Prince Harry played at the Audi charity polo match at Coworth Park last Sunday. Looks like it was a fun and relaxing day for everyone present. Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa were among the spectators. (Photos of Prince William and Kate are here).
The two princes didn’t have fun only during the match. The fun-loving brothers, Prince Harry in particular, hammed it up before mounting their horses. Prince William got into some stretching exercises (a good idea before embarking on any physical activity, anyhow). He was certainly in good form doing his routine.
I don’t know about Prince Harry, though. Either he was trying to show his brother some dance moves or he was making fun of Prince William’s stretching routine. But I like his style. He really seemed to put everything he had into the moves. Photos below (and a bonus one of Prince William and Kate!)
Video: Prince Charles and Friends for the Rainforests
May 6, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
Prince Charles’s The Prince’s Rainforests Project has released a new video to launch its global awareness campaign. In this new clip, he is joined by notable personalities such as Harrison Ford, Joss Stone, the Dalai Lama, Robin Williams, Daniel Craig, Kermit the Frog and his sons Prince William and Prince Harry.
I love how simple this video is. It’s not flashy but it gets the message across.
You can make your own video to spread awareness of the project, and upload it to The Prince’s Rainforests Project website.
Prince Harry Look-Alike in the Philippines
April 30, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
A guy called Harry, and who looks like Prince Harry, has been causing a stir in the Philippines. Reports have been swirling about that the royal has been doing humanitarian work in the village of Dumanjug in Cebu.
Here’s a video of the look-alike. He does kind of look like both Prince Harry and Prince William, doesn’t he? You can read more about the reports on Filipina Soul.
