February 5, 2010 by Maricar Macalincag
We’re still in the grip of winter where I live, though thankfully not facing the prospect of a snowstorm like what’s in the U.S. East Coast right now (I hope you guys are keeping warm and safe!). It’s a good time to look at the coats and other cold weather clothing that the royal ladies have been wearing lately.
Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary comes in out of the snow into the New Carlsberg Glyptoteque in Copenhagen on January 27, 2010. She attended the award ceremony of the Elite Research Awards, which are given to outstanding Danish scientists. She wore this striated …read more

February 2, 2010 by Maricar Macalincag
Prince Christian and Princess Isabella are not to be kept indoors in the winter when there is snow to be enjoyed in Switzerland! Their parents, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, took the little tots to Verbier for a family R and R on the slopes.
The Danish royals were all bundled up and ready to have fun in the cold. The little ones are introduced to winter sports early, and 4-year-old Prince Christian appears to have already mastered his skis! Princess Isabella, who is 2 1/2 years old, seems content with sledding for now. But I’m sure …read more

New Year Reception for Denmark’s Diplomatic Corps
January 6, 2010 by Maricar Macalincag
The Danish royals have been busy with the New Year galas that they host for various organizations in Copenhagen. Yesterday was the reception for the diplomatic corps, attended by ambassadors and other representatives to Denmark.
Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary welcomed their guests to Christiansborg Palace. The event is less formal and grand than the New Year’s Court of the Order of the Elephant, so we won’t be seeing any tiaras on the ladies this time around.
Hosting all these receptions one after the other could become rather exhausting, even for royals who are very much …read more

November 23, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
It’s not often we see royalty from several countries together in one place. When it’s for a good cause, it’s even more of a good thing.
Last week, ladies from several European royal families attended a conference for the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The convention, which aims to protect the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of children, was signed on November 20, 1989.

Today, Princess Mary attended the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the ‘Rights of the Child’ conference. She paired a loosely-knotted black scarf with her dark blue textured coat.
