Princess Maxima of the Netherlands sported a slightly different look from her usual style when she visited a fashion exhibit last week.
The Dutch Crown Princess attended the third Arnhem Mode Biennale Arnhem, Netherlands on June 5, 2009. The exhibit, which occurs every two years, brings modern fashion and film together.
Princess Maxima donned a beige military-inspired suit with a high collar, and red, white and blue bands across the waist and arms. She wore her hair in a curlier style, which is very flattering and fresh. A silver clutch and beige heels with a hardware detail complete the look.

Royal Fashion Friday: Princess Maxima at ‘Sweet Love’ Premiere
April 10, 2009 by Maricar Macalincag
Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Crown Princess Maxima attended the premiere of Mapenzi Tamu (‘Sweet Love’ in Swahili) at the RAI Theater in Amsterdam on April 4, 2009. The prince is the patron of AMREF Flying Doctors, which organized the event. Former streetchildren from Kenya performed at the event.
Princess Maxima wore a one-shoulder black dress, which had what appeared to be buttons running down the side. While I understand that asymmetric dresses are in fashion these days, and I really like Princess Maxima, I can’t summon a lot of enthusiasm for this outfit. Is it the cut? The fabric? Probably both. What do you think?

RoyalBlog.nl is reporting that the Netherlands’ Queen Beatrix and her family are stuck in Lech am Arlberg, Austria because of heavy snow fall. It had started snowing on Monday and continued on Tuesday. According to the ski town’s official website, the snow fall yesterday, February 17, 2009, was 55 cm (about 22 inches).
The road going to the town was closed, stranding thousands of vacationers, including Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, Crown Princess Maxima and their three daughters. Prince Constantijn, Princess Laurentien and their children are also in the village. The Dutch royals are on their annual skiing holiday in Lech. They are expected to stay for at least a week, anyway, so the road closure would not be crimping their schedule at all. At least, there is all that extra snow for the kiddies to enjoy!
