Last week, Queen Elizabeth visited the Flitcham Primary School in Norfolk. The school was opening its new Information Technology classroom. It was the first visit that Prince Philip missed this year, because of a pulled back muscle.
The Royal Channel posted this video of the Queen at the school, interacting with the teachers and children, who couldn’t believe that “the real Queen was coming”. At the end of the visit, the students gave “three cheers for Her Majesty the Queen!”.

This is just one of the many functions that the royals attend. Some of these get a lot of press. Others, like this performance, we’re lucky to be able to witness. The royals were clearly appreciative of the music being played.

The Norwegian Crown couple, Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, took part in a video produced by the WWF, the global conservation organization.

The 60th Salón Internacional de la Moda de Madrid (SIMM) or the Madrid International Fashion Fair began on July 17, 2008. The three-day fashion event featured hundreds of exhibitors. This year’s fair was organized into sectors based on style and fashion philosophy. Examples of the sectors were GALA (cocktail and evening wear), ETERNA (contemporary basics), ALMA AIRE (current trends), ALMA TIERRA (natural textiles and ethnic prints), and DIVA (daring, sensual and exuberant styles). Also shown were fashions for men and ready-made collections.
As Spain’s Crown Princess and a fashion icon, Princess Letizia was the perfect choice to open the fashion fair. For the event, the princess wore a simple emerald-green dress paired with a brooch and open-toed heels.
Video: Queen Elizabeth when She’s not ‘Being Queen’
July 8, 2008 by Maricar Macalincag
What is Britain’s Queen Elizabeth like when she’s not performing official duties? What does she do when she doesn’t have to be all prim and proper? We’ve seen some aspects of her lighter fun-loving side. Here’s another video showing The Queen “off-duty”. She’s shown winning £16 on a horse race, being concerned about clashing with the background used for a TV shoot; calling her official robes impractical; driving her own car; making sure that the Reagans are served the correct coffee; and playing with her dogs. You’ll also see a young Prince Charles listen to his mom tell a joke.
