Prince Albert, a regular visitor to the Tour de France, is preparing to host the start of next year’s race in Monaco. During the sixth stage of the race on Thursday, he closely followed the event while riding in the car of race director Christian Prudhomme.

“I think it will be a very beautiful event. The Tour hasn’t been Monaco in 44 years. It’s about time,” Albert said, adding that he still does some sport to keep in shape - but only when he has time.

“It is a little bit difficult, given my agenda,” he said.

After the stage, Prince Albert met with some of the riders, including Frank Schleck of Team CSC (photo above). The royal, a former Olympian and a current member of the International Olympic Committee, will also be at the Beijing Games next month.

Charlotte Casiraghi at Valentino Party in Paris

June 18, 2008 by Maricar Macalincag

charlotte-casiraghi-valentino-paris-1-nc Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi is well-known to be a fashionable young lady. No less than newly-retired fashion stalwart Valentino recognized her sense of style during a party in Paris. He sought her out on the red carpet, amid a guest list that included A-list model Claudia Schiffer.

The bash was held to launch an exhibition celebrating Valentino’s 5-decade career, at the Les Arts Decoratifs museum. The exhibit includes more than 200 pieces.

Charlotte wore a short beaded dress with an interesting V-spaghetti strap, paired with gold-toned high heels. As always, she was nicely made up while remaining fresh and natural-looking, with her hair left flowing down her shoulders.
